Bench Mat Canada: Where to Buy a Bench Press Mat in Canada

If you are a Canadian lifter searching for a bench mat, most of what you find is American listings with US pricing and vague shipping. Odyssey is a Canadian company. We are based in Ottawa, Ontario, our prices are shown in Canadian dollars for Canadian shoppers, and we have shipped bench mats to lifters in every province.

What a bench mat is

A bench mat is a non-slip grip surface you lay on the bench press pad under your upper back. Gym benches are smooth vinyl, so when you drive your legs your body slides toward your head and the setup you built falls apart. The mat holds your back in place so your leg drive goes into the bar and your shoulders stay set. If that is new to you, start with what is a bench mat.

The Odyssey Bench Mat

The Odyssey Bench Mat is a lay-flat mat with an Advanced Grip Polymer surface. No straps, nothing to fit: it lies flat on any flat or incline bench and packs flat in your gym bag. It has been tested by 700 lb+ benchers, is rated 4.98 out of 5 across 208 verified reviews, and comes with a 90-day money-back guarantee.

Why Canadian gyms are no different

Commercial gym benches in Canada come from the same handful of manufacturers as everywhere else, with the same smooth vinyl pads. Whether you train at a big-box gym in Toronto, a powerlifting gym in Calgary or a garage in Halifax, a slick pad plus a sweaty shirt plus hard leg drive adds up to sliding. Read why you slide on the bench press for the causes and fixes.

What else Canadian lifters buy from us

Most Canadian orders pair the mat with Odyssey Liquid Chalk, because so many Canadian commercial gyms ban loose chalk and liquid chalk leaves no dust. We also wrote a separate guide on buying liquid chalk in Canada.
